In 2000, former college roommates Scott Cohen and Jason Rush embarked on a mission. Their goal; build a business that supplies truck finance solutions to Owner-Operators. At the time, the truck industry’s climate was tumultuous, but Cohen and Rush saw it as the perfect opportunity to help drivers nationwide at a time when they needed it the most.

Since it’s founding nearly a decade ago, Cobalt has realized its vision while financing thousands of truck drivers from coast to coast. The company has helped both carriers and drivers achieve profitability in good times and bad. Our finance programs have paved the way for carriers to improve their financial performance while allowing their drivers to realize the dream of truck ownership.

At Cobalt, we knew from the beginning that a driver can only succeed if we put them in the best position to do so. By not relying on credit scores to make decisions, we judge a variety of factors when making a credit decision. With that in mind, our underwriting team has strived to build each and every contract with monthly payments and achievable residuals to help Owner-Operators work towards owning their own rig.

Cobalt has not grown overnight though due to booking a lot of deals. The key to our success is the relationships we have built with the drivers in our portfolio. Our account service representatives work tirelessly with our drivers around the clock to fulfill their needs. By servicing them well, we place our drivers in the best position to successfully become a profitable Owner-Operator and an asset to any truckload carrier they work for.
